The Center for Educational Outreach at Rose-Hulman is offering workshops to integrate traditional standards with core computer science concepts and practices to create dynamic learning units based on inquiry and problem solving.

Brief Description: Increasing Computer Science Knowledge Within Any Discipline - An Integrative Pedagogical Approach: The objective to provide a program, in which K-12 teachers increase their pedagogical knowledge in computer science within any discipline, along with instructional strategies that enable students to achieve at higher levels and meet proficiency in their core academic courses. K-12 teachers will develop computational thinking skills vital for success across all disciplines, such as using computational tools to analyze and study data and working with large data sets to analyze, visualize, and draw conclusions from trends. The workshops will engage K-12 teachers in the creative aspects of the field by allowing them to develop computational artifacts based on their curriculum, subject, and gradelevel. Workshops are in-person.

Participants: Not just for computer science teachers - workshops are open to ALL K-12 Teachers interested in integrating computer science principles into their own classroom.

Incentives may include: For K-12 Teachers: Mileage, Lodging, Meals, Attendance Incentive, PGP Points, and All Curricular Materials

For Schools: Reimbursement of Sub Pay

Cost: FREE
